In November, RIC volunteer Ruth Rosenhek met with leaders of the Corazon de Jesus community. Half of the profits from the eco-tourism centre will go toward managing and protecting the larger reserve and half to the Corazon de Jesus for community development projects (ecological, economical, medical, etc.). RIC along with partners (Earthways, Ancient Forests International and Ranforest Concern) will assist the Corazon de Jesus community through participatory planning processes to develop project priorities and community plans.
