Greg Sheehan
is one of the most influential
percussionist/teachers in Australia. He is a Musical
Chamelion having played with the greatest musicians
from just about every genre in Australia covering Folk,
Jazz, Rock, Hip Hop, African, Latin, Indian, Asian,
Classical, Improvised etc. Greg has created a
new form of percussion/dance known as body
percussion, influencing thousands of people along
the way. He has developed a completely new system of
notation and playing rhythms. Amongst his more
recent achievements, Greg was the artistic director/compere
and principal musician for the Australian
Woodford Millenium Rhythm Festival with 120
performers. This was a hugely successful night,
thrilling 20,000 people in attendance and watched by
millions live on television.
More Recently Greg
was invited by popular Irish Musician Donal Lunny
to feature in a new composition "Duiseacht",
played with three percussionists and the Irish
Concert Orchestra, before the Irish President
at the World Expo in Hanover, Germany.
