Where2Now?

Where2Now? is the second compilation of music produced by Red Hot Green Black to raise funds for green and Aboriginal causes.

As well as the Ecuador rainforests, each 3-CD volume benefits Australian green groups like Australian Conservation Foundation and Friends of the Earth. Various Aboriginal land rights struggles are also supported like that of the Mirrar people who are trying to close the Jabiluka uranium mine which has usurped their sacred ground. See www.mirrar.net

51 different artists and groups have contributed tracks to Where2Now?. These include some of Australia's most famous bands like Midnight Oil (whose performance at the closing ceremony of the Sydney Olympics had an audience of a billion people). Where2Now? showcases a variety of musical styles including world, trip hop, grunge, contemporary and folk. There is also a strong promotion of aboriginal artists both well-known ones and others who often don't get the exposure they deserve.

The three CDs are titled Manta, Kapi and Walpa. These words come from the Pintjin jara aboriginal language and mean "Earth", "Water" and "Air", the three fundamentals that human and other beings need for survival.
