Out of that extraordinary event came Australia's first Inquiry into Rainforests. Three years later, protesters once again stopped the logging that continued to destroy precious and irreplaceable Big Scrub rainforest. First with a blockade and then through a successful third party rights appeal in the Land & Environment Court. The historic decision (Kivi -v- :Forestry Commission of NSW) forced State Forests out of the Mt. Nardi area and resulted in Premier Wran declaring it as the Nightcap National Park which was then World Heritage Listed in 1983.
